FAQ

DSV offers a wide range of transport options, including air freight, sea freight, and XPress deliveries. Our air freight service is ideal for time-critical shipments, while sea freight provides a cost-effective solution for larger volumes. For urgent deliveries, we offer XPress services, ensuring priority handling for the fastest possible transit time.

Air freight to Malaysia has an average transit time of 3 to 6 days, depending on the selected route and customs clearance speed. For sea freight from Rotterdam or Antwerp to major Malaysian ports such as Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas, transit times typically range from 30 to 45 days, depending on the exact shipping route and any stopovers. With DSV’s advanced track & trace systems, you can monitor your shipments in real time and stay informed about their actual status.

Transport costs are determined by factors such as volume, weight, chosen shipping method, and any applicable customs duties. Contact us for a tailored quote.

For transport to Malaysia, you will typically need a commercial invoice, a packing list, a Bill of Lading (B/L) or Air Waybill (AWB), and possibly a certificate of origin. Malaysia has strict customs regulations, and certain products, such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, and chemicals, require additional permits or certifications.

The main ports for sea freight in Malaysia are Port Klang, Tanjung Pelepas, and Penang Port. For air freight, we frequently use Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Penang International Airport, and Senai International Airport (Johor Bahru). With our strong presence in these strategic logistics hubs, we ensure fast and efficient transport solutions.

Malaysia experiences two monsoon seasons: the northeast monsoon (October – March) and the southwest monsoon (May – September). Heavy rainfall, flooding, and storms during these periods can cause delays in local road transport, port operations, and air freight.
Strong winds and rough seas in the Strait of Malacca and the South China Sea may also extend sea freight transit times. DSV closely monitors weather conditions and provides proactive updates and flexible logistics solutions to minimize delays. We advise customers to account for additional transit time during the monsoon seasons.
