FAQ

DSV provides a range of transport solutions, including air freight, sea freight, and XPress deliveries. Air freight is the best option for time-sensitive shipments, while sea freight offers a cost-effective solution for large volumes. For urgent deliveries, we offer XPress services, where shipments are prioritised for maximum expedited transit times.

Air freight to Brazil typically takes 2–7 days, depending on the chosen airline, route, and customs clearance efficiency. Direct flights to São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) or Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG) offer the fastest transit times, while shipments routed through other international hubs such as Miami, Frankfurt, or Madrid may have longer lead times.
For sea freight from Rotterdam or Antwerp to major Brazilian ports such as Santos, Rio de Janeiro, and Paranaguá, transit times generally range between 30 and 45 days, depending on the exact shipping route, any stopovers, and port handling efficiency. The Port of Santos, the largest container port in South America, handles a significant portion of import and export flows, which can result in variable clearance and transshipment times.

DSV provides both FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) solutions, working with leading shipping lines and airlines to ensure reliable and efficient transport routes. With DSV’s advanced track & trace solutions, you can monitor your shipments in real time, always giving you full visibility of your transport’s location and progress.

Transport costs to and from Brazil vary based on volume, weight, chosen shipping method, and applicable import duties. Additional factors such as fuel surcharges, seasonal rate fluctuations, and port or airport fees may also influence the final price. For transport to Brazil, you typically need a commercial invoice, packing list, a Bill of Lading (B/L) or Air Waybill (AWB), and possibly a certificate of origin. Specific products, such as machinery, pharmaceutical goods, and chemicals, may require additional permits. The Brazilian customs authorities enforce strict import regulations, and all goods must be registered in the SISCOMEX system (Integrated Foreign Trade System). DSV provides expert customs clearance support to ensure fast and accurate processing.

For sea freight, the key ports are Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Paranaguá, and Itajaí. For air freight, we utilise São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), Viracopos-Campinas International Airport (VCP), and Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport (GIG). With our strong presence in these major logistics hubs, we ensure fast and efficient transport solutions.

Yes, Brazil enforces strict regulations on the import of medical products, chemicals, food, alcohol, tobacco, and electronics. Certain goods require an import licence and compliance with the regulations of the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA), the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA), and the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO). DSV ensures smooth and accurate customs clearance, so your shipments are processed without delays and in full compliance with regulations.
