What is a reefer container?
Reefer containers or refrigerated containers are used to transport goods requiring temperature-controlled conditions in transit. Products such as food and medicines are typical goods to ship in this kind of shipping container. Reefer containers are fitted with a refrigeration unit which is connected to the electrical power supply on board of the ship.
Reefer containers come in the types 20FT, 40FT, 40HC and 45FT containers.
